When someone you love vanishes, time stops……but the search doesn’t.
For most families, a missing person case feels like falling into a void, days turn into months, hope fades into fear, and answers slip further away. That’s where United Search Corps (USC) steps in. On this Giving Tuesday, we’re asking you to help us keep hope alive, to fuel the searches that bring families the answers they deserve.
The Mission That Never Stops
United Search Corps is a nonprofit built on one purpose: bringing missing loved ones home. Our team travels the country searching rivers, lakes, and remote areas for vehicles and remains tied to long-term missing person cases.
We don’t wait for resources, we act. Simple as that!
Every mission is funded entirely by donations, volunteer hours, and sponsorships from partners who believe in our cause. Our work requires expensive sonar systems, boats, fuel, and travel, but what it delivers is priceless: closure, truth, and peace for families who’ve been waiting years.
“When law enforcement runs out of leads, we step in. We bring compassion, technology, and relentless dedication to finish the search others had to stop.”
-Doug Bishop, Founder of United Search Corps
Why Giving Tuesday Matters
Giving Tuesday isn’t just a global day of generosity, it’s a lifeline for nonprofits like ours.
Each year, this single day determines how many searches we can complete, how many families we can help, and how much hope we can restore. The funds raised on Giving Tuesday directly support:
- Fuel and logistics for multi-state recovery operations
- Dive safety equipment and sonar maintenance
- Volunteer training and certifications
- Family support programs, including awareness flyers, bilboards and digital campaigns
- Technology upgrades that allow us to see what others can’t
When you donate, you’re not just funding a mission, you’re becoming part of one.
Every sonar scan, every dive, every recovery is powered by ordinary people who care donors, volunteers, and families standing shoulder to shoulder to find the lost.
This is what your Giving Tuesday donation makes possible:
- $25 fuels one hour of sonar scanning
- $100 provides safety gear for a diver
- $500 funds a day of river operations
- $1,000 helps transport our search vessel to the next case
- $5,500+ covers full deployment for a multi-agency search mission
No amount is too small, because every act of giving creates a ripple of hope.
The Hidden Costs of Hope
Behind every success story are countless unseen expenses, truck tires, hotel stays during missions, repairs for stolen or damaged equipment, and maintenance of our sonar fleet.
Earlier this year, United Search Corps lost more than $5,000 in equipment to theft during a search in New Jersey. Instead of stopping, we pressed on because the families waiting for answers couldn’t afford for us not to.
This Giving Tuesday, your contribution helps us recover from setbacks like these and stay mission-ready for the next call for help.
Every Family Deserves Answers
Imagine waking up every day not knowing if your loved one is alive or gone. Imagine birthdays, holidays, and anniversaries marked by silence.
That’s the reality for thousands of families across America but it doesn’t have to be.
United Search Corps is committed to ensuring no one is forgotten. We respond to calls from coast to coast, often at our own expense, to locate the missing and bring closure to their families.
Every donation on Giving Tuesday ensures another search can begin, another river can be scanned, another family can finally breathe again.

A Message From Doug Bishop
“I started United Search Corps because I know what it’s like to lose someone and need answers. Every case we take on is personal. Every family we meet deserves closure. This Giving Tuesday, I’m asking for your help, not for me, but for the families waiting for hope.”
