On Sunday, March 19, 2017, family members contacted the Middle Township Police Department after receiving a disturbing email from Carty. He was last seen driving a white 2014 Chevrolet Cruze with New Jersey registration N40EUF. A license plate reader captured his vehicle at about 2:30 p.m. that day in the Cape May Court House area. His destination is unknown and he has not been heard from since. His case remains unsolved.
