Pendergrast, a Rhodes College student two weeks from graduation, was last seen leaving his residence in Memphis, Tennessee between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m. on December 1, 2000, driving his navy blue 1998 Toyota 4Runner with Georgia license plate 934-PT to a class four blocks away. He never arrived. His SUV was discovered abandoned that afternoon on a private dirt road off south Kerr Road in Lonoke County, Arkansas, near Bayou Meta. He has facial dimples and uses the nicknames Matt and Mateo. His case remains unsolved.
