Ridinger was last seen between noon and 4:00 p.m. on September 2, 1977, leaving her job at the Rainbow Restaurant in Natick, Massachusetts to hitchhike to Cape Cod, where she planned to take a ferry to Martha’s Vineyard to spend the Labor Day weekend with her mother. She never arrived. In 1986 a witness came forward and said he had given her a ride to the Hyannis airport rotary early on September 3, but that account has not been confirmed. Foul play is suspected. Her case remains unsolved.
