Caldwell, whose nickname is Dig, was last seen in Columbia, South Carolina on March 3, 1982, the day he withdrew $500 from his bank. His black and gray 1972 Pontiac Grand Prix, South Carolina license plate GOK 105, has never been recovered. He has a half-inch scar on the right side of his neck and may have been traveling toward Charleston. His case remains unsolved.
